To be fair, I liked you before I knew you were yakuza.

[He'd been pretty well disposed towards Majima before there had ever even been the slightest mention of gangsters-- how couldn't he be, after the dramatic alleyway rescue when they met, and then later when Mr. Tall Dark and Handsome bought him time with cute cats? Cat Observation Post Majima had endeared himself to Tim's weird, cat-loving heart.]

[Tim looked up at him then, considering this new information that he'd gotten about him and whether or not that really changed much of his opinion. And... it really didn't. It gave him a new perspective, maybe, on why he was the way he was, why he had a field that was so barren of fucks to give. The particular way that Majima Gorō was broken. But, hey, both of them were broken in different ways, so they're just... broken together, maybe.]

And you've seen the kind of people that I hang out with, they're a bunch of mercenaries and ex-assassins and... [His brow furrowed a little.] ...whatever the hell Nisha is, other than like ten pounds of nuts in a five pound bag. Maybe I've just acquired a taste for criminals? Y'know, like olives.

[Eat enough of them and you start to like it?]

[But, god, he was almost thankful that they were moving on to way less heavy topics. This whole weird beef situation? Sure, he'd had all of these same thoughts that Majima was apparently having. Did he really have to give up steak for the rest of his time on this peninsula just because he'd gotten cowboy on the monster lottery draw? That sounded like bullshit, cows are delicious.]

[ And why was he leading with 'do you want to go to the sex store with me'. ]

[He said this like it was totally normal, why wouldn't he have leather pants and a leather jacket? That he wore for his job, that involved tossing people to the curb when they got too rowdy?]

[At least there wasn't anybody else around here when Majima started talking about sex accessory shopping. The back of Tim's neck still went red, but it was better than if there had been an audience to overhear.]

Why does that make you think about going to a sex shop? [It should be obvious, just give him a few minutes. He'll realize it on his own.] I mean, sure, I kind of owe you for the rope anyway. You had to cut up yours to get me loose.

[The second question was somehow no easier than the first, because... he'd never really been? Hard to have an opinion on beaches if your only knowledge to draw from was, like... magazines and movies. They seemed nice in those, though.]

Uh, I guess I'm all for beaches? Like, theoretically speaking, they sound nice.

[ On both counts, actually, because not only had Majima been thinking about a chance to ask Tim more in detail about what sort of accessories he might be interested in, but the beach kind of sounded really nice. ]

'cause I read about recommendations for the second one online. Been ages since I've actually been, though -- so I thought you could help me pick out a suit.

[ God, look at Tim blushing. A-fuckin'-dorable. And there kind of wouldn't be any point if Tim didn't like the beach, at least in theory. Because why the hell would Majima bother getting half-naked for some randos, n o p e. ]

[Oh, good, sex accessories-- another conversation that Tim could embarrass himself in. He already blushed just at the mention of a sex shop, to say nothing of actually going into one and looking through what it had to offer and then actually purchasing things. Taking all of that stuff up to a cashier and exchanging money for those goods.]

[He'd be so red that he might actually catch fire. It would probably be spectacular.]

[Instead, they could talk about beaches and Majima in swimsuits. Because that was... better?]

[Because he was going to complain about getting to see Majima in an array of small amounts of clothing?]

I guess I'll have to get one too, then. I haven't, uh, gone swimming?

[ You, too?, he almost asked, only that would kind of be blowing his stupid internet handle thing. ]

Or we can just walk or somethin'. Only thing ya really need's sunscreen, anyhow. And a towel. Otherwise sand gets in all kindsa places.

[ What kind of beach trip was this. ]

[It would blow both of their anonymous internet handles and reveal that Majima had been anonymously talking to Tim about the thing that he needed to talk to Tim about. Which would just be embarrassing for both of them, honestly.]

Half the point of being at the beach is to get in the water, right? [At least, that was what he was told on that post. Man, a lot of people were doing beach dates these days for totally unrelated reasons.] I'm sure I can pick it up, it can't be that hard.

Wait. Sand in what kinda places?

[At least it was a nice day for a walk, even if that walk was going to end at a sex shop. And knowing Majima, one with an appropriately groan-worthy pun in its name.]

Well, consider every crack and crevice ya got on ya, and sand can get in there. I mean, the whole beach is made of it, so.

[ Majima ought to know, too -- he'd kind of been dummy thicc for a little while now, and it was probably worse with fur? At least his guard coat probably gave him some protection. In theory.

And look, he wasn't responsible for the punniness or un-puniness of this establishment, at least: Toys "N" Us, recommended by Lup. It looked discreet enough from the outside, at least, aside from the fuzzy pink bunny-themed bikini underwear display on one of the windows, but inside it was basically as she'd described: plenty of room, plenty of merchandise. ]

Wow. Mind if I browse some?

[ This question probably would have seemed downright banal if Majima hadn't asked it while reaching up and taking down a leather collar from one of the racks. ]

[It was still a pretty punny name-- maybe not the most groan-worthy that he'd ever heard, but definitely still a pun. At least the shop was pretty discreet from the outside, otherwise it would've been a struggle to get Tim to walk in the front door.]

[The inside of it? Well, Toys 'N' Us was probably an apt name for this place, because it was basically a toy store for adults. Plenty of shelves and racks and displays of things that would have to be censored on basic cable. Tim was in that building for all of like thirty seconds before he started to feel his face and neck heating up.]

Oh. Um. Sure? Knock yourself out, I guess.

[And there Majima was, examining that leather collar with interest. The question was out of Tim's mouth before he could stop it:]

Is that for me or you?

[ That was a way to get Majima's attention. He looked up over the collar, taking in Tim's current flushed state... and also the currently bare line of his throat. ]

I was just thinkin' it looked like the one I had back home. But I think you'd look pretty hot in it, too.

[ Hey, Tim had asked. ]

If ya see anything you'd be interested in trying out, let me know, alright? Like toys, stuff you'd like to see me in, and things like that. I won't flip out or anythin'.

[ Maybe he ought to look for something he could use on Tim when his claws got in the way...? ]

[Well, that sure was... something to think about. Majima and his previous leather collar ownership. That he presumably wore.]

[Tim might have to think about that a lot? He had a lot of questions about Majima and his collar and the frequency of which he wore said collar. The things he liked about the collar. Other things he might wear with the collar.]

[It probably wasn't so much a matter of if he found something, but curating the list of all the different things that were interesting into something manageable.]

Do you-- [His voice cracked a little. Thanks, he hated it.] Do you have any, uh. Leather pants?

[ Ahh. So Tim, too, was a man of taste. Majima hooked the collar around one finger and let the material swing to its natural lowest point. Yep, getting this one. ]

Can't say I do.

[ In fact, up until just recently, he'd probably never have considered them. But... ]

But I can try some on while we're here. Black, right?

[ The next row was a series of jackets, hats, leashes, gloves. Majima picked out a pair from one of the hanging racks; it looked like about his size.

You know, he was glad they came here. Good job, Lup. More data on what Tim liked was always a positive, even if it did seem to be eroding his ability to form complete sentences. Or maybe that was a plus, too? Embarrassed or no, it was pretty gratifying to know Tim was interested. ]

It was more that Tim was a man who wanted to see his leggy boyfriend in leather, and there was not a person alive who would've been able to blame him for that desire if they'd ever gotten the chance to see Majima's legs. Or his ass. As the kids say-- dummy thicc. Let it never be said that Tim wasn't interested in seeing Majima in something tight and sexy.]

Yeah, black. [It was classic? A solid color choice. And even though it was a pretty tame suggestion in the realms of sexy things to dress up in, it was kind of reassuring that he went along with it so easily. Made Tim feel a little better about this whole thing.] You, you look really good in black.

[The layout of the store made sense, at least-- leather goods all seemed to be in one generalized area. Gloves and leashes were... interesting, too, in their own ways. (Do you keep your boyfriend on a long or a short leash?) And past that were leather crops, whips, floggers. Those were also]

[The crops were hanging by a loop of leather from wire hooks, and Tim tapped one of them and let it swing.]

That'd be kind of on the nose. God, the riding jokes.

[ Taste or no, Majima would not turn down that compliment. Maybe it was silly, but it kind of made him feel... warm? Like smiling? What was being happy, sounded fake. ]

I think you'd look great in it, too. Although I did like that time ya wore red. It really suited ya.

[ Maybe it made more sense now, knowing that Tim used to be a redhead. Majima picked up one of the crops, and gave it an experimental flick. The movement came with the satisfying whistle of parting air, and the precision with which he brought the tip to a stop was... promising, if one were into that sort of thing. ]

Y'know, I'm pretty good with these. [ He was weirdly good with most weapons, actually. Maybe Tim had noticed. Maybe Tim also noticed the way Majima was eyeing him now, as if considering the sort of sounds he might be able to coax out of the man. ] Never used one on someone I liked, but I wouldn't mind givin' it a try. Here, can ya hold these a sec?

[ And so there he was, handing Tim the crop, collar, and somehow also a leash he'd picked up while he ducked into a changing room. ]

It's not exactly gonna match with the shirt and jacket.

[ Which was apparently why when he opened the door, he was shirtless, with only his customary boots and a pair of leather pants clinging to his hips. All the leg a guy could ask for, with a fit that looked like it'd been spray-painted on. ]

Not a lot of room for the imagination, huh? [ But all the same, he seemed surprisingly at home in them, standing there. They really set off that lean build of his, too -- the curve of his lower back, the ridges of his abdominal muscles. Go figure, Tim had met Majima at like the one time before he decided to wear leather for 30 years straight. ]

[Majima was... good with crops? He certainly demonstrated some dexterity with it, the way he could make it whistle through the air before bringing it to a short, precise stop. Impeccable control. Probably not for the first time, Tim was seriously confused about what yakuza do and why it would involve proficiency with fetish-based weaponry. He had a lot of questions?]

[The only thing he actually got out of his mouth, though, was kind of a weird choked noise in the back of his throat while Majima pushed the goods into his hands and disappeared into a dressing room. There was a few minutes where Tim kind of awkwardly waited and Majima was presumably figuring out how to get tight leather over nine miles of leg, before he emerged wearing just the pants and his usual shoes.]

Oh.

[Whatever color had been slowly leaving Tim's face returned with a vengeance. Majima without a shirt on was always a whole and entire snack, but that along with the stark contrast of his tattoos and the tight leather pants showing off every inch of his endless legs? God. It was a devastating combination.]

You should, um. Get those.

[The things he'd let Majima do to him in that getup were borderline criminal.]

Could you just, could you take your hair down for a second?

[ Look. Look. Sometimes you just came across things like mystery syringes and tangerines and riding crops and you needed to be prepared to perform Heat Actions with them at all times. It was just common sense for criminals. ]

I think I will.

[ This trip? Totally worth it, judging from the expression on Tim's face. Majima didn't have some kind of huge attachment to his hairstyle; it was just easier to fight with his hair held back, and also easier to look professional. The way Tim asked, though...

He reached a hand back and hooked a thumb under the hair tie in back, allowing his glossy black hair to fall free over his shoulders. The difference was like night and day, frankly -- take away the formality of his usual dress, and what one was left with was a handsome man that looked more his own age.

Maybe it was just him being ridiculous, but having his hair down more than not having a shirt, made him feel a little more... self-conscious? Like Majima was missing part of that smooth, professional mask that he'd presented to the public for so long. ]

[Majima's hair was dark and sleek like silk, and Tim really wanted to run his hands through it just to see if it felt as smooth as it looked. Something about how it framed his face made him look younger; maybe it softened up some of the sharp lines of his cheekbones and jaw. It was a good look for him regardless, and one that Tim wouldn't mind seeing a little more often.]

[This man was a whole snack any day of the week, but, god, put him in this outfit and take down his hair and he was a five course dinner.]

Yeah, yeah, like that.

[Don't mind if his voice sounded a little faint, he was just in the process of realizing that he was dating the actual hottest man on this planet. Lucky him, and everybody else could just die jealous.]

God, I'd have to beat people offa you with a stick.

[ Well, how about that, huh? Maybe little things did make a lot of difference, and if Tim was that into him having his hair down, Majima would make a note to himself to do it more often. ]

Lucky ya won't have to. I don't exactly plan on walkin' around like this in public.

[ It'd only encourage the grabbiness of the locals, and honestly? This kind of reaction was too good to go to waste.

Too bad they were in a retail setting right now. But he leaned forward to give Tim a kiss anyway -- a short one, albeit one he had to brush his hair back for afterwards. ]

Think we've got enough extra for today?

[ Because he certainly wouldn't mind heading back and testing some of these purchases out. ]

[Just give it a few years, Majima, you'd be walking around like that in public every day, whether anyone wanted you to or not. Shirtless regardless of the weather. There were questions that could be raised about the possibility of frostbite on unfortunate things like nipples, but maybe that was a mystery for the ages.]

[Tim tilted his head up for the kiss when it was coming in, and the lock of dark hair that brushed against his cheek was about as smooth as he thought it looked. It was kind of unfair? Not only was Majima tall and ridiculously good looking and had abs that could've been on a Greek statue, he also had amazing hair. Genetics were bullshit. Either that or Majima had a fantastic hair care routine.]

Probably. [There was a lot that could be done with the things they'd picked out. And that was just the extras, there was still the main thing that they'd come here for.] We just, uh. Should pick up the rope?

[They couldn't leave without the original thing that they'd needed to get. Some good, old-fashioned nice rope for Majima to break out whenever he wanted to tie Tim to the headboard.]

[ In short: Genetics were bullshit. He did shampoo and brush it, but that was about it. ]

Yeah. Just give me a sec.

[ To change back into his usual clothes, naturally. While he was changing, though, he could chat with Tim a little over the divider. ]

Thanks for coming, by the way. Not just to the store.

[ He wasn't actually sure how today would go down, but it turned out he'd gotten to learn some more about Tim and get some bedroom accessories out of the bargain, how was that for a haul? He'd leave his hair down when he came back out. What? It was hard getting it all back into place without a comb. ]

[Of course, Majima couldn't just walk out of the store wearing those pants-- or, well, he could, but there was that whole beating people off of him with a stick thing to consider-- and Tim waited outside the changing room with his arms full of their selected merchandise.]

[Things had gone far better than he'd expected when he left the house this morning. He'd left expecting a really awkward and uncomfortable conversation, and... well, okay, that had happened too, but he'd also gotten some insight into the enigma that was Majima and also got to see him in tight leather pants. A net positive.]

I... y'know, I almost didn't? I almost took your offer of doing it over text.

[Which would have kept him in his comfort zone, but he would've missed out on all the good things that happened. So, points in the not being chickenshit column.]

I'm glad I came out to meet you.

[He stepped closer to him and, after hesitating for just a second, reached up to tuck some of that dark hair behind his ear.]

Man, that really does look good on you. [He was handsome either way, but the long hair was just weapons-grade handsome. Leaves no survivors.] Want to help me pick out some rope?

[ For the briefest moment as Tim reached over, Majima looked genuinely caught off-guard. And why not? The long hair was a relatively new development, and sure as shit no one else had ever put their hands in it to tuck it behind his ear -- more like try to use it as leverage to smash his face against something unpleasant.

Then he closed his eye, and tilted his head almost imperceptibly into that touch. ]

Same here. It's always good to see you, but today I got to find out a little more about who ya are.

[ And from his expression when he looked at Tim again, one might surmise that if anything, he'd grown more fond of his favorite bullman. Then he swept his gaze quietly past, and towards the... er, bondage equipment.

There were plenty of supplies, an almost staggering array of choice in chains and twine and other materials, but Majima reached up to take up some jute dyed a darker shade of red, then pressed it feather-light up over Tim's shoulder, just flush with a sliver of exposed skin. ]

I like this one. It'd look downright gorgeous on ya.

[Tim couldn't help but think that he'd gotten more out of their exchange in terms of information about Majima than Majima had gotten about him. He'd gotten to hear about Sotenbori and the hit and the things he'd had to do to get what he wanted, and Majima had found out, what? That Tim used to be a redhead and that he was totally neurotic? Not exactly news, except for the ginger bit. But if Majima was happy with what he'd learned, well. They'd probably gone through enough Tragic Backstory for one day.]

[Tim wanted to bask in the fondness of Majima's gaze for as long as he could.]

[And then it was time for something completely different-- bondage. Apparently.]

[The rope that Majima laid against his skin was good quality and smooth, similar to the kind that he'd used on him last time and had sacrificed to free Tim's hands faster. There'd been nothing wrong with the blond color of that previous batch of rope, but Tim had to agree that the darker crimson red was better for his skin tone.]

Red, huh? [Really, he'd take almost any color that wasn't canary yellow, but he was kind of glad that Majima at least had a decent eye for color.] Yeah, I think you're right. Let's go with that one.
