Tim. Couple things I wanted to talk to you about man-to-man.
[ oh god ]
As far as everyone else knows, Angel is my assistant. Since you'll be spending a lot of time around her, you should know that she's also my daughter. My pride and joy. The single most precious thing to me in any and every single universe.
Since youare worthless are basically worthless can't exactly fulfill your old role anymore, I want you to to function as her personal bodyguard. She's not hard to keep up with - mostly keeps to herself, almost never causes trouble. You'll watch over her when I'm gone and ensure she's cared for until I come back. Protect her with your life and I'll make sure yours is very, very comfortable.
You've always wanted to stay out of the field, right? Be comfortable and safe?
[ He fully intends to twist Tim's arm into helping him shoot/kill stuff anyway, because he's Jack, but it sure sounds nice, doesn't it? ]

Cripes, yeah. You never met those other Vault Hunter assholes, did you? The anime reject ninja made out of overcooked linguini? The blue-haired Siren bitch? Haven't seen any of the others around yet, but god knows they'll probably show up to be a great big thorn in my ass. They're a commando douche, a tiny Truxican cannibal with rage inverse to his size annnnd I dunno, I forget the rest.
And it depends on when they're from, but yeah, they eventually found out about her. They're the ones that killed her.
[ SORRY BOUT THAT MINEFIELD, BUD. ]
Obviously, no one can know she's my daughter. She's less of a target if everyone thinks she's just my assistant.

YES him too, fuck. Does he know I'm here?
Nevermind, not important. The important part is that all of them are threats and that all of them talked her into suicide and that if they hurt her again, I'm killing all of you.
And don't let her talk to any guys either. It wasn't exactly an issue before, but the last thing I need to worry about is her getting creeped on by every swinging dick in town. She's naive, she doesn't know any better.

Good. I talked the Siren and the ninja loser into not trying to blow my face off, but all bets are off when it comes to psychos, so... yeah, keeping my distance.
You know, Tim, I don't think I've ever told you this, but you're reliable. I really appreciate that.

Because unlike you, Debbie Downer, Rhys actually knows how to have fun.
[ NOPE Rhys was just as unwilling, Jack just happened to talk about something so cringy that he preferred hookers and blow to having to listen to it. ]
I'll send you the date and time. Don't be late.

...that sounded more ominous than I intended.

[ She doesn't reply (which might make things even more ominous oops??? Her hands are kinda full right now.) but a minute or so later there's a light knock at his door. ]
[ Angel, observant as ever, notices Tim's frazzled state and begins to worry herself. ]
I- yes? Are you?
[ In her hands is a medium sized basket with a warm looking wool blanket draped over the top, and though it looks light enough to be held one handed Angel carries it carefully with both. ]

[ Her brow furrows a little, the immediate thought being that Jack had done something again. But like her, Tim seems ok.
She gives him a curt nod to his invitation ]
I hope I didn't come at a bad time.
[ And then the basket makes a noise: a little rustling and a small high pitched mew. ]

[ Angel enters, delicately setting down the basket before turning to make sure the door is securely shut. It would be bad if the baskets contents escaped.
When she turns back to Tim, she begins to lose her nerve a little. What if he does't like it, or want the extra responsibility? She's never given a gift so big even if for now it's small in form.
She kneels down beside the basket to pull at the blanket cover. ]
I know Mercenary Day, or it's equivalent here has come and gone but...this gift took a little longer to acquire than I initially thought it would.
[ And she removes the blanket completely, pushing it aside to reveal a very small tabby-kitten sitting inside. ]
Happy belated Mercenary Day.
