Date: 2020-01-21 06:55 am (UTC)Huh? O-of course I am. Hey, that smells great.
[ No doubt he'd find Tim's additions to those catalogs later, and it'd bring a smile to his face. Somehow, his boyfriend always did. ]
Know what I was thinkin'? There's something about your cooking that just tastes the best. You wouldn't happen to have some secret ingredient up your sleeve, would ya?
[ It was honestly kind of nice that Tim could cook? Gave him more impetus to sharpen his own skills, if only to be able to make cute lunches. Gross, unacceptable. ]

Date: 2020-01-22 06:23 am (UTC)Sorry, did I wake you up?
[He saw that sleepy head bounce back up like a kid dozing off in class. Tim set the bowl of soup on the bedside table, within easy reach.]
No secret ingredients, sorry. But it is pretty hot, so you might want to give it a second.
[Unless he liked having a burned tongue, that was totally his prerogative. Tim just didn't recommend it, for obvious reasons.]
Hey, so, I know I'm probably just being paranoid, but. [He'd been thinking about his boyfriend and being sick and all those reports that had been coming in from around Bavan, the ones all about people getting sick and going nuts. It couldn't have been the same thing, though, because Majima was fine, he just had a little cold. Definitely not a horrible rage-virus, right?] Nothing weird happened to you in the past few days, did it? Like, I dunno, nobody's tried to take a bite out of you?

Date: 2020-01-22 04:34 pm (UTC)[ Lies. Big lies. But Majima seemed happy as he moved aside, the better to make room for Tim. Carefully, he picked up the soup and let the bowl warm his fingers for a moment before he dipped the spoon in. ]
Heh, you know me. It ain't a day in Bavan if someone ain't tryin' to get a piece of me. But now that ya mention it, people do seem a little more on edge than usual.
Bitin', though? Like a zombie? I did get scuffed up a little by a dude yelling about fur coats.
[ But... you know, that was also pretty normal? ]
You worried about a repeat?

Date: 2020-01-23 02:04 am (UTC)Yeah, uh, there's something going on. Bavan's back on its bullshit, I guess.
[Tim picked a little at the bedspread, idly, like he just needed something to do with his hands. Something happened in Bavan practically every other week, so it shouldn't be too alarming that there was something weird going on, but still...]
It doesn't seem like zombies, or not like the ones we got before, anyway. I've just kind of been hearing some things? People going nuts out of nowhere and attacking and stuff like that.
[He gave Majima's knee a little squeeze, probably more reassuring for himself than his boyfriend.]
It sounds like you ran into the regular brand of crazy, so that's good.

Date: 2020-01-23 03:59 am (UTC)[ Majima was making quick work of his soup, savoring the taste as it went down, but he turned a warm smile on Tim when his boyfriend reached over and gave him a little squeeze. ]
Can't say I'm feelin' too upset at the moment. Maybe a little dizzy...?
[ This was probably due to him being a lovestruck idiot, however. Funny how they had symptoms in common. ]
Say, now that I've got ya cornered here, how've things been going? Did you, uh... see the mailers I had out? I figured ya probably wouldn't anything too flashy, but you've seen where I'm from. I can totally do flashy if ya want.

Date: 2020-01-23 05:13 am (UTC)[Right, that whole rage thing that happened last year. That time when Tim got infected with rage-virus and went batshit on Jack's ass and broke his damn arm off. Not a great memory, honestly, it had some pretty awful implications about, like, Tim's entire character because he was pretty into the whole do-harm-unto-Jack thing until he realized that he was acting just like Jack.]
[But it was fine. Everything was fine. Tim would just take that memory and put it in a little mental box and bury it somewhere in the back of his mind with all the others.]
I guess just let me know if you start feeling worse? I can call a doctor or something.
[Maybe Pierce. He was okay enough, for a doctor.]
[The topic switch to the magazines on Majima's counter was way better for conversation, anyway. They could talk about something nice.]
Yeah, I saw them. I marked a couple of the ones that I liked, too. [It still made his chest feel all weird, thinking about the fact that he was looking at wedding rings. Almost too happy for it to be real.] Sorry, they're not very flashy. I've kinda already had my fill of gaudy gold stuff. I think I just want something... classy.

Date: 2020-01-23 05:50 am (UTC)Classy's good.
[ Classy was very good. Whatever floated Tim's boat, really. Because now Majima had a vested interest in seeing this beefy cowboy happy, and it really was too bad that he was feeling both sleepy and weak, because part of him still wanted to smooch his boyfriend right goddamn now. ]
If ya don't care about the germs, wanna come a little closer? I can listen to how your day went.
[ Hell, he'd listen to Tim read entries out of a phone book, and like it. Majima was in it deep now, way past the point of no return. ]

Date: 2020-01-24 02:02 am (UTC)You kind of are a walking petri dish right now. [But, like, his favorite petri dish. The petri dish that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.] Or, well, not walking. A laying petri dish.
[Even so, Tim moved up the bed to lay with him anyway, completely disregarding the fact that this was exactly how you caught someone else's cold. That was fine, he knew that if he got sick, Majima would just turn around and take care of him. He got comfortable next to him against the mound of fluffed-up pillows, then sneaked an arm around him so that he could snuggle in and rest his head on his favorite pair of pillows, the ones on Tim's chest.]
It hasn't been too interesting a day? Other than all the Bavan stuff, but that's not all that far off from crap that's happened before. And I think that some other people are working on it, anyway, and trying to keep everything contained. Javert's on it, so, like, it's probably fine.

Date: 2020-01-24 02:51 am (UTC)Hmm. Around here, I guess uneventful's pretty good.
[ Majima took the invitation just as it was offered, resting his head lightly against the warm expanse of his boyfriend's chest. He could hear the slow, strong beating of the man's heart, feel the comforting vibration of Tim's voice against his temple. True contentment. ]
By the way, I was thinking we oughta go and see the cherry blossoms again this year. You know, have another picnic.
[ Majima was doing his best to sound even about it, like they both might have forgotten that time they'd gone out last spring. That time that coincidentally, a big dumb werewolf had asked Tim if he wanted to go steady. He probably wasn't fooling anyone here, but he couldn't even bring himself to care. Gangster crime man wanted to go see the flowers with his boyfriend, and tell Tim how much he loved him. Maybe not in that exact order?
Right now, he'd kiss the little dip between Tim's collarbones, right where the freckles that ran down his cowboy's chest disappeared under the fabric of his shirt. No ulterior motives, not this time, but it was toasty and comfortable under the comforter, and once again Majima's eyelids were starting to grow a little heavy. ]

Date: 2020-01-24 04:20 am (UTC)[Majima was a warm weight up against his side, possibly a little too warm because of that whole fever thing. His head resting on Tim's chest was familiar and comfortable, and even on normal days, he'd gladly be Majima's beefy pillow. When he was sick and miserable, Tim would've bent over backwards if that would've made him feel better.]
[He rested his cheek against the top of Majima's head and got his arm underneath that incorrectly buttoned up shirt, so that he could feel skin and the rise and fall of his breaths. He ran his hand over his back in long, slow strokes, and, well. This was It, right? That thing that everybody was looking for. God, he was a lucky bastard.]
I'd really like that. [He would've been all for it even if he didn't have an idea of why Majima wanted to go. It would be romantic just to go back to the place where they had their first real date, and where they had decided to go steady-- add in that they were looking at wedding rings, and Tim might not be a brain trust but he knew how to put two and let's get married together.] I had a really good time last year.
[He pressed his lips against Majima's hair, a kiss for a kiss.]
Hey. [Softly, because he wasn't sure if Majima had dozed off yet. He looked like he was pretty close.] I love you.
I'd say that's a wrap!
Date: 2020-01-24 04:54 am (UTC)Me, too. I'm so glad.
[ Glad he'd met Tim, grateful he'd gotten to know some nerd from the future. Baffled but happy that somehow a hunky space cowman had landed in his lap and wanted more than just a summer fling.
He might have been asleep, he might not have been, but Majima's fingers curled loosely in the front of Tim's shirt at the sound of the man's voice -- and the shape of his lips up against Tim's skin was an upward curve. His breathing leveled off, and then Majima slipped off for real.
Good night, space beef. ]
