Date: 2020-01-17 02:28 am (UTC)[Tim made a sympathetic noise when Majima told him that he felt hot and tired and awful. His poor, sweet boyfriend, sick as, well... a dog.]
You probably should be in bed, though. [That's where sick people were supposed to go, right? Straight to bed, to sleep it off. Majima could use a few days off, anyway, to lay around and let a slab of beef in a tiny nurse's costume take care of him. Wait on him hand and paw. There was one thing that he might like about this situation, though...]
I could carry you there? You shouldn't strain yourself.
[The werewolf seemed really fond of being in Tim's beefy arms, so maybe he wouldn't object so much to going back to bed if he was carried there in his favorite pair. Really nice biceps made everything better, right?]

Date: 2020-01-17 02:39 am (UTC)[ Majima began, probably about to protest, only
actually
that flush across his cheeks might not have been due entirely to the fever. ]
Okay. Yeah.
[ After all, how often did he get a chance to be swept up in those beefy arms? And now the opportunity (however under the weather he might feel) had practically been dropped in his lap. ]
I should know when to let someone else take care of me, right? Thanks, Tim.
[ And unless Tim moved otherwise, Majima would just sort of slide free of the blankets, lean in, and rest his head against the solid rise of Tim's chest, allowing for the minotaur to pick him up more easily. ]
no subject
Date: 2020-01-17 03:17 am (UTC)[He gave Majima a gentle squeeze before shifting his arms to pick him up, pulling him into his beefy embrace in a princess carry. It couldn't have been very often that anyone carried him like this-- he was a pretty big guy, after all, and there weren't a whole lot of people who would be physically able to lift him and also be able to get close enough to lift him. Maybe not very many people other than Tim and his brick shithouse of a brother.]
I'll take care of you. [He didn't have a ton of experience playing nurse to someone, but it couldn't be that hard. He knew how to make chicken soup and make tea and he was an excellent personal heater, so everything would be fine.] And, uh. If you need some medicine, I can run out and get some.
[He carried his germ factory of a boyfriend into the bedroom, setting him down amidst the blankets and pillows on the bed. Then he busied himself with getting him comfortable, getting him underneath the covers and propped up with enough fluffed-up pillows to be able to breathe easier.]
Uh, or maybe some tea? You sound a little rough, it might help with your throat.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-17 03:52 am (UTC)[ A germ factory was probably an excellent way to describe Majima, who was apparently happy to be on the receiving end of even inexperienced nursing. His throat still felt scratchy and his muscles ached, but... it was nice.
More than nice; he couldn't remember the last time someone had taken care of him like this, nurse outfit or no. Tim was just so... strong? And good to him, even though his werewolf boyfriend was filled with crimes. Total marriage material, look at him fluffing up those pillows. Tim put so much effort in them that Majima made a concerted effort not to burrow into them like a big dumb wolf. ]
I took some for my throat earlier, but tea sounds great.
[ And with all the time they spent together, Tim probably know exactly where to find it. Top cabinet, on the left, right beside the honey. The fancy honey, which Majima kept in reserve in case any werebears came by.
(The jar had a bee on it.) ]
no subject
Date: 2020-01-18 03:48 am (UTC)[At the beverage request, though, Tim kissed his forehead and headed for the kitchen to fix up some tea. He knew his way around it pretty well by now, since he'd stayed over quite a lot after their many, many nights of extreme bedframe testing. He put the kettle on to boil water and found Majima's preferred brand of fancy tea up in the cupboard, next to a very cute jar of honey. And, hey, honey's good for colds, right?]
How long have you been feeling bad? You haven't been just, like. Marinading in your own germs, have you?
[Once the water was hot enough, Tim brewed up the tea and added in a generous dollop of honey, stirring it to make sure it all dissolved, and brought it in for his poor, germ factory boyfriend.]
Here you go. Let me know if it's too sweet?
no subject
Date: 2020-01-18 03:13 pm (UTC)[ Majima hadn't connected the shallow scratch he'd gotten to his current symptoms, because why would he? He'd gotten scraped up tons of times, no problem, the tiredness might just be due to helping with the machine, and the flu? Well... it was flu season. ]
I figured I was on the verge of comin' down with something, but I haven't been sick like a normal person since I got here.
[ He accepted the tea from Tim with a grateful smile. ]
Thanks.
[ The hot liquid felt soothing against the back of his throat. It felt better. Hell, he felt better, just for having Tim around. ]
I didn't interrupt anythin' important, did I? I can fend for myself if ya have something going on. Order some takeout and go back to sleep.
[ That was right, Majima's idea of self-care was Chinese food and a nap. ]
no subject
Date: 2020-01-18 09:34 pm (UTC)[Majima did have an awful sleep schedule before he came to Ryslig, after all. Managing a cabaret club all night and then going out to dance and beat up goons and sing karaoke until dawn. Pass out for four hours, rinse, repeat. That would be hell on anybody's immune system, even if they were only 24 years old.]
[At least it wasn't quite that bad anymore, but he could probably always use a little more sleep than what he was getting. Eight hours a night, Majima! Eight of them!!]
Oh, no, it's fine, I mean the only thing I've really got on my plate for today is working on that machine. I can bring over some of the fiddly bits and work on it here, too.
[And, jeez, ordering takeout and taking a nap. That was what you did when you were in college or something and didn't have your mom or a girlfriend or something who would make soup for you.]
At least let me make you some soup or something. You're sick, I'm pretty sure that clogging up your arteries with greasy takeout isn't going to make anything better. [He fussed with the blankets a little around him, even though it was probably unnecessary.] Your fridge stocked up?
no subject
Date: 2020-01-18 11:43 pm (UTC)[ Tim already was, really, by the simple fact of his presence here. Having someone to stop by when he got sick? Someone who'd make him tea, and soup, and fluff up his pillows? It was nice, and he set down the cup on the nightstand so that when Tim fussed with the blankets, Majima could reach over and touch a hand to his boyfriend's arm.
It felt good to have that point of contact. ]
But, uh... soup does sound nice.
[ Even if it felt a little strange asking someone to take care of him. And of course, what sounded even nicer was cuddling up with a nice beefy minotaur, but maybe Tim didn't want to hug a dumb furry germ factory. ]
no subject
Date: 2020-01-20 09:23 pm (UTC)[It was Tim's solemn, sworn duty to spoil Majima at every opportunity. He didn't make the rules, he just had to follow them and make sure that his boyfriend had everything that he could want, especially when he was feeling sick. What was the point of having a big, beefy beau if you couldn't count on him to carry you around and make food for you and act like a beef-based personal heater?]
Soup it is, then. [He leaned in to give him a kiss. Maybe he shouldn't have, considering that Majima was sick, but he really couldn't help it. And if it made him feel a little better, it was worth the risk of catching whatever he had.] Just hang out here and, like, rest up, okay? Call me if you need me.
[Then, after briefly looking down at the mess that he was wearing,] I'm just gonna go get changed before I start on that? If a pan spits at me or something while I'm wearing this thing, I'm probably gonna burn off a nipple.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-20 10:30 pm (UTC)[ And maybe Majima could be excused for leaning into that kiss a little, basking in the warmth of it as he pressed a half-involuntary palm of one hand against his boyfriend's collarbone. Sure, he didn't want to give Tim his germs -- but if his boyfriend was volunteering kisses, who was he to decline? ]
Want to leave the costume here? Save it for later?
[ Apparently he wasn't feeling that bad. ]
Ya look great in it, by the way. I'd be first in line to be a patient.
[ Or maybe it was just that Tim did make him feel that much better. Any version of Tim, but notably also Tim squeezed into a tight little number and pretending to play nurse. ]
no subject
Date: 2020-01-21 12:01 am (UTC)[And, well, if it couldn't, he'd deal with it. They were going to find out either way, because Tim followed up kiss number one with a second one. A double dose of gross Majima germs.]
Sure, I'll hang it up in the closet. Break it out again when you're feeling better.
[Because clearly he was in no shape to do anything with it right now, even if seeing a cowboy in small amounts of clothing made him feel better. No amount of sexy clothes was going to cure a cold.]
I, uh, I really thought that your text was trying to tell me that, y'know, this was what you wanted? It's dumb, I know.
[Thinking with his dick and not his head. But, hey, they could get some good use out of the outfit on another day. Tim gave him one last smooch to the forehead before he got up to go change and put the costume away, then make good on his promise of soup. There was enough chicken and vegetables in the refrigerator to work with, so it was just a matter of chopping everything up and doing the cooking thing.]
no subject
Date: 2020-01-21 01:08 am (UTC)Uh, understandable mistake to make. I do kinda text ya a lot about that kinda thing.
[ Majima was, in fact, decades away from knowing what a booty call was, or sexting, he barely knew what a selfie was. And yet he had realized that not only was the internet convenient, it was even more convenient when it came to inviting his beefriend over for some extracurricular fun.
And
to be fair
his germ-riddled brain had kind of made it sound like a kinky roleplay idea. The smell of chicken simmering was lovely; Majima let his head rest lightly against one of those fluffed up pillows, tired but strangely happy.
In the kitchen was a different kind of catalog this time, and this one had little to do with lingerie. Someone had been looking through a couple of magazines, in fact. One was wedding jewelry (with a considerably slimmer men's section than the space reserved for the engagement bands and women's rings), another was a magazine suggesting venues of varying degrees of nice versus Ryslig spookiness. ]
no subject
Date: 2020-01-21 03:17 am (UTC)[But, with Majima resting in the other room, Tim could busy himself with the soup; chopping up carrots and onion and celery, putting broth on the stove to heat up. Getting the chicken cut up into small enough pieces to cook. Thankfully, part of his training in how to be Jack had included cooking lessons, just because Jack was the kind of paranoid that meant that he preferred to make his own meals. Thus Tim knew his way around a kitchen well enough to handle most recipes. So, chicken soup? Easy mode. He didn't even have to pay much attention, which meant that he had time to take a look at some other things hanging around in his boyfriend's kitchen.]
[Like a magazine. But not a spicy one-- one was just jewelry, and the other was venues. Wedding planning things, obviously, and seeing the evidence that Majima was thinking about their eventually nuptials made Tim's chest feel warm. It was sweet, and Tim flipped through the limited men's section of the magazine, perusing some of the things he'd been looking at. Even made a mark next to one or two of them with a pen; simple bands in white gold or platinum, with modest embellishments. Nothing too flashy, nothing yellow.]
[Once the soup was cooked up and seasoned, Tim filled up a bowl and brought it to his tired boyfriend. Nothing like a bowl of warm, hearty chicken soup to help a guy get over a cold, right?]
GorÅ? You awake?
no subject
Date: 2020-01-21 06:55 am (UTC)Huh? O-of course I am. Hey, that smells great.
[ No doubt he'd find Tim's additions to those catalogs later, and it'd bring a smile to his face. Somehow, his boyfriend always did. ]
Know what I was thinkin'? There's something about your cooking that just tastes the best. You wouldn't happen to have some secret ingredient up your sleeve, would ya?
[ It was honestly kind of nice that Tim could cook? Gave him more impetus to sharpen his own skills, if only to be able to make cute lunches. Gross, unacceptable. ]
no subject
Date: 2020-01-22 06:23 am (UTC)Sorry, did I wake you up?
[He saw that sleepy head bounce back up like a kid dozing off in class. Tim set the bowl of soup on the bedside table, within easy reach.]
No secret ingredients, sorry. But it is pretty hot, so you might want to give it a second.
[Unless he liked having a burned tongue, that was totally his prerogative. Tim just didn't recommend it, for obvious reasons.]
Hey, so, I know I'm probably just being paranoid, but. [He'd been thinking about his boyfriend and being sick and all those reports that had been coming in from around Bavan, the ones all about people getting sick and going nuts. It couldn't have been the same thing, though, because Majima was fine, he just had a little cold. Definitely not a horrible rage-virus, right?] Nothing weird happened to you in the past few days, did it? Like, I dunno, nobody's tried to take a bite out of you?
no subject
Date: 2020-01-22 04:34 pm (UTC)[ Lies. Big lies. But Majima seemed happy as he moved aside, the better to make room for Tim. Carefully, he picked up the soup and let the bowl warm his fingers for a moment before he dipped the spoon in. ]
Heh, you know me. It ain't a day in Bavan if someone ain't tryin' to get a piece of me. But now that ya mention it, people do seem a little more on edge than usual.
Bitin', though? Like a zombie? I did get scuffed up a little by a dude yelling about fur coats.
[ But... you know, that was also pretty normal? ]
You worried about a repeat?
no subject
Date: 2020-01-23 02:04 am (UTC)Yeah, uh, there's something going on. Bavan's back on its bullshit, I guess.
[Tim picked a little at the bedspread, idly, like he just needed something to do with his hands. Something happened in Bavan practically every other week, so it shouldn't be too alarming that there was something weird going on, but still...]
It doesn't seem like zombies, or not like the ones we got before, anyway. I've just kind of been hearing some things? People going nuts out of nowhere and attacking and stuff like that.
[He gave Majima's knee a little squeeze, probably more reassuring for himself than his boyfriend.]
It sounds like you ran into the regular brand of crazy, so that's good.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-23 03:59 am (UTC)[ Majima was making quick work of his soup, savoring the taste as it went down, but he turned a warm smile on Tim when his boyfriend reached over and gave him a little squeeze. ]
Can't say I'm feelin' too upset at the moment. Maybe a little dizzy...?
[ This was probably due to him being a lovestruck idiot, however. Funny how they had symptoms in common. ]
Say, now that I've got ya cornered here, how've things been going? Did you, uh... see the mailers I had out? I figured ya probably wouldn't anything too flashy, but you've seen where I'm from. I can totally do flashy if ya want.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-23 05:13 am (UTC)[Right, that whole rage thing that happened last year. That time when Tim got infected with rage-virus and went batshit on Jack's ass and broke his damn arm off. Not a great memory, honestly, it had some pretty awful implications about, like, Tim's entire character because he was pretty into the whole do-harm-unto-Jack thing until he realized that he was acting just like Jack.]
[But it was fine. Everything was fine. Tim would just take that memory and put it in a little mental box and bury it somewhere in the back of his mind with all the others.]
I guess just let me know if you start feeling worse? I can call a doctor or something.
[Maybe Pierce. He was okay enough, for a doctor.]
[The topic switch to the magazines on Majima's counter was way better for conversation, anyway. They could talk about something nice.]
Yeah, I saw them. I marked a couple of the ones that I liked, too. [It still made his chest feel all weird, thinking about the fact that he was looking at wedding rings. Almost too happy for it to be real.] Sorry, they're not very flashy. I've kinda already had my fill of gaudy gold stuff. I think I just want something... classy.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-23 05:50 am (UTC)Classy's good.
[ Classy was very good. Whatever floated Tim's boat, really. Because now Majima had a vested interest in seeing this beefy cowboy happy, and it really was too bad that he was feeling both sleepy and weak, because part of him still wanted to smooch his boyfriend right goddamn now. ]
If ya don't care about the germs, wanna come a little closer? I can listen to how your day went.
[ Hell, he'd listen to Tim read entries out of a phone book, and like it. Majima was in it deep now, way past the point of no return. ]
no subject
Date: 2020-01-24 02:02 am (UTC)You kind of are a walking petri dish right now. [But, like, his favorite petri dish. The petri dish that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with.] Or, well, not walking. A laying petri dish.
[Even so, Tim moved up the bed to lay with him anyway, completely disregarding the fact that this was exactly how you caught someone else's cold. That was fine, he knew that if he got sick, Majima would just turn around and take care of him. He got comfortable next to him against the mound of fluffed-up pillows, then sneaked an arm around him so that he could snuggle in and rest his head on his favorite pair of pillows, the ones on Tim's chest.]
It hasn't been too interesting a day? Other than all the Bavan stuff, but that's not all that far off from crap that's happened before. And I think that some other people are working on it, anyway, and trying to keep everything contained. Javert's on it, so, like, it's probably fine.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-24 02:51 am (UTC)Hmm. Around here, I guess uneventful's pretty good.
[ Majima took the invitation just as it was offered, resting his head lightly against the warm expanse of his boyfriend's chest. He could hear the slow, strong beating of the man's heart, feel the comforting vibration of Tim's voice against his temple. True contentment. ]
By the way, I was thinking we oughta go and see the cherry blossoms again this year. You know, have another picnic.
[ Majima was doing his best to sound even about it, like they both might have forgotten that time they'd gone out last spring. That time that coincidentally, a big dumb werewolf had asked Tim if he wanted to go steady. He probably wasn't fooling anyone here, but he couldn't even bring himself to care. Gangster crime man wanted to go see the flowers with his boyfriend, and tell Tim how much he loved him. Maybe not in that exact order?
Right now, he'd kiss the little dip between Tim's collarbones, right where the freckles that ran down his cowboy's chest disappeared under the fabric of his shirt. No ulterior motives, not this time, but it was toasty and comfortable under the comforter, and once again Majima's eyelids were starting to grow a little heavy. ]
no subject
Date: 2020-01-24 04:20 am (UTC)[Majima was a warm weight up against his side, possibly a little too warm because of that whole fever thing. His head resting on Tim's chest was familiar and comfortable, and even on normal days, he'd gladly be Majima's beefy pillow. When he was sick and miserable, Tim would've bent over backwards if that would've made him feel better.]
[He rested his cheek against the top of Majima's head and got his arm underneath that incorrectly buttoned up shirt, so that he could feel skin and the rise and fall of his breaths. He ran his hand over his back in long, slow strokes, and, well. This was It, right? That thing that everybody was looking for. God, he was a lucky bastard.]
I'd really like that. [He would've been all for it even if he didn't have an idea of why Majima wanted to go. It would be romantic just to go back to the place where they had their first real date, and where they had decided to go steady-- add in that they were looking at wedding rings, and Tim might not be a brain trust but he knew how to put two and let's get married together.] I had a really good time last year.
[He pressed his lips against Majima's hair, a kiss for a kiss.]
Hey. [Softly, because he wasn't sure if Majima had dozed off yet. He looked like he was pretty close.] I love you.
I'd say that's a wrap!
Date: 2020-01-24 04:54 am (UTC)Me, too. I'm so glad.
[ Glad he'd met Tim, grateful he'd gotten to know some nerd from the future. Baffled but happy that somehow a hunky space cowman had landed in his lap and wanted more than just a summer fling.
He might have been asleep, he might not have been, but Majima's fingers curled loosely in the front of Tim's shirt at the sound of the man's voice -- and the shape of his lips up against Tim's skin was an upward curve. His breathing leveled off, and then Majima slipped off for real.
Good night, space beef. ]
